Ops notifications
Which tese.io Ops events send notifications, who receives them, and on which channels.
tese.io Ops tells the people involved when work orders change, fall due, go overdue or are created by a planned job, and when alerts arrive. This page lists each notification, who gets it and where it shows up.
Where to find it
In-app: in your tese.io notifications. Selecting one opens the work order (or the Alerts page) in the tese.io Ops console.
Phone push: on the tese.io Lite app, where phone notifications are switched on for your organisation. Tapping one opens Ops mode on the Work orders or Alerts tab.
Email: Weekly Insights, and assignment notifications where your organisation has email notifications switched on.
What you're notified about
| Event | Who receives it | Phone push title |
|---|---|---|
| You're assigned to a work order, or an order you're assigned to is approved | The assignees | New task |
| A work order changes status: approved, declined, started, paused, resumed, finished or closed | Everyone on the order (assignees, participants and creator), except the person who made the change | Work order update |
| A work order is due within 24 hours | Its assignees, once per order | Work order due soon |
| A service-level target is missed | Everyone on the order | Work order overdue |
| A planned job creates a work order | Its assignees | New planned work order |
| An alert is raised | Organisation administrators, plus the assignees of any work order it opened | Ops alert |
| Someone reports an issue by QR tag | Organisation administrators | Approval needed |
| Weekly Insights (Mondays) | Administrators, and people involved in work that week | Email and in-app only |
How to stop or change notifications
Check your own notification preferences in tese.io. If you switch a channel off, such as email or push, you won't receive Ops notifications on that channel.
For phone push, make sure notifications are allowed for tese.io Lite in your phone's settings and that you're signed in to the app.
Your organisation's administrators can also switch channels off for everyone.
Good to know
You are never notified about your own action. If you pause an order, the others on it hear about it and you don't.
Status updates go to everyone on the order, so creators hear when their order is closed.
Due-soon and overdue warnings are sent once per order, not repeatedly. tese.io Ops checks for due-soon orders about every 15 minutes.
An order needs a due date and at least one assignee to trigger a due-soon warning.
Planned-job and alert work orders don't send the general "assigned" notification. Their assignees get New planned work order or Ops alert instead.
People who report an issue by QR tag without an account aren't notified. They follow progress on their status page.
Whether phone push and email are available depends on how notifications are set up for your organisation.
Common questions
Why didn't I get a notification when I closed the work order? You made the change, so you aren't notified about it. Everyone else on the order is.
I'm the creator of an order. Will I hear when it's done? Yes. Creators are counted as people on the order and get status updates, as long as someone else closes it.
Why did I get "Work order overdue"? A response or resolution target for that order was missed. See Service levels.
Tapping the push opened the work order list, not the order. Is that right? Yes. Tapping an Ops push opens the Work orders (or Alerts) tab in tese.io Lite. Find the order by its code.
Why does an assignment show as "New task"? Work orders are tasks in tese.io, so assignment uses the general task notification. On the phone, tapping it opens Tasks.
