Orbit basics

Use Orbit, the tese.io professional community, inside tese.io Lite to post, connect with people and find jobs.

Orbit is the tese.io professional network: a community feed, people and organisations, jobs, events, groups and mentorship. In tese.io Lite it is its own mode with its own bottom bar.

Where to find it

  • Tap the mode switch (top right) and choose Orbit ("Professional network and jobs").

  • Or open More → Orbit ("Community, jobs, and mentorship on tese.io").

The Orbit bottom bar has Home, Network, Post, Notifications and Jobs. The header has the menu (your picture), Search Orbit, Messages, the Support icon and the mode switch.

How to post

  1. Tap Post in the bottom bar, or Start a post at the top of the Home feed.

  2. Type in "What do you want to talk about?".

  3. Optionally tap Add a photo or Write an article.

  4. Choose Who can see this: Anyone, Connections or Followers. If you can post for an organisation, choose who to Post as.

  5. Tap Post.

How to use the feed

  • Like, Comment, Repost or Send a post from the buttons under it.

  • Tap a post to read the comments and add your own (Write a comment).

  • Save a post to read later. You find it under Saved items in the menu.

How to connect with people

  1. Tap Network. Switch between people and organisations.

  2. Tap a person to see their profile. Tap Connect, Follow or Message.

  3. Invitations you receive can be accepted or ignored (Accept / Ignore).

  4. Use Search Orbit in the header to find someone by name.

How to find a job

  1. Tap Jobs. Filter between remote and on-site roles.

  2. Tap a role to read About the job.

  3. Tap Apply. The application opens in your phone's browser, on Orbit or the employer's site.

The Orbit menu

Tap your picture at the top left to open the menu: View profile, My network, Events, Groups, Mentorship, Saved items, My jobs, ESG reports and Green finance.

Good to know

  • You use your tese.io account; there is no separate Orbit sign-in.

  • Notifications in the Orbit bar lists Orbit activity (Today, Earlier). Tap Mark all as read to clear it.

  • Orbit messages are separate from the Messages tab in Lite.

  • Orbit needs a connection. If a page will not load, you see an error with Retry.

  • To return to your data work, tap the mode switch and choose Lite.

Common questions

My post won't publish. "Could not publish" may mean the photo is too large. Try another photo, or post without one.

I see "Write something or add a photo first." A post needs text or a photo before you can publish it.

How do I edit my Orbit profile? Open the menu, tap View profile, then Edit profile.

Why did Apply open my browser? Applications are completed on the Orbit website or the employer's site.
